Lontong Sayur Ala Mei -Mei ( Steamed Rice with Coconut Milk Sauce )
Description:
Gee..dunno what it called in English.But,this is a famous food,that everywhere in Indonesia we can find it,mostly in public markets and becomes a home made business (incluced me! )
It's made by steamed rice and vegetables and coconut milk.I had 2 portions for my lunch today..Alamak!!!!!!!!! KENYANGNYA!!!!!!!!!!!! It does taste like the
Ingredients:
1 cup of rice,half steam,and put in banana leaves,fold tightly ( or in a plastic)
1 liter of water
corriander,dry fried for a while
4 shallots
2 garlic, chopped
2 cups of coconut milk
sator,as needed
chayotte or jackfruit,cut into small chunks
red and green chilies,cut thinly
anchovy, as needed
eggplant ( I didn't have this,so I skipped it)
salt
pepper
vetsin
1/4 tea spoon shrimp paste
Taufu ( finally I used the Taufu,Jenny sent before )
Soy bean,cut square as the same with the taufu
salted duck egg
crackers
Directions:
1.The half cooked rice is steamed by banana leaves or plastic.
2.Boil the chicken with 1 liter water,wait till the meat is smooth
3.Add chopped garlic and shallots
4.Add the chayotte/eggplant,chilies and shrimp paste and the rest ingredients.
5.Add the coconut milk with small temperature.
6.Add salt,pepper and taste .
7.Ready to eat.......
Cut the steamed rice ( Lontong )and put in a bowl.Pour the sauce on top and the salted duck egg n crackers.
