Gado - Gado ( Indonesian Salad From Cooked & Raw Veggies )

Nahhh ini dia resepnya Gado2 ( request from Nory,BULUH & BURET ( bener gitu?heheheheh ) .Baru sempet diposting skrg.Goshh..within months, I have cooked several times!!!





Ingredients:
- 1/2 buah kol /cabbage, sliced and blanched
- 100 g toge/beansprouts,toors trimmed,blanched and drained
- 5 tahu /firm tofu, fried until golden brown and sliced look like dice
- 1 papan tempe /fermented soy bean paste,shallow-fried and sliced into bite-sized pieces
- 3 telur rebus/ hard boiled eggs, cut into slices or pieces
- 4kentang/boiled potatoes, idem
- kerupuk udang/shrimp crackers
- sate/satay/kebab

Dressing :
250 g roasted peanuts,finely ground
3 shallots
2 garlics
4-5 fresh red chili peppers
1/2 tbs shrimp paste ( terasi ),but you can skip it if you don't like
juice of 1 tbs tamarind pulp ( air asam jawa ) mix with a lil water
1 tbs palm sugar
salt
water
1-2 cms galangal
1-2 cms ginger
1-2 cms lemongrass
3 bay leaves
2 kaffir lime leaves
2 tbs oil
sugar
1 can coconut milk ( you can add 1 more can )






Directions:
Blend the ingredients from chili - lemongrass. Fry the paste in hot oil until the flavors are released.
Add a lil coconut milk and ground peanuts and stir till you have a smooth mixture.
Add the remaining coconut milk,bring to slowly to the boil.
Season with sugar and salt to taste.
Ready to eat.

You can serve the different vegetables either together on a large platter or separately in individual bowls.In both cases, spoon a lil of the dressing over the each salad and garnish with shrimp crackers ( beark up large crackers into 2-3 pieces ) + sate/kebab ( enak,gila! )
